IWD 2019: #DOTYouth who are #BalanceforBetter superstars

This International Women’s Day, we asked #DOTYouth to share how their initiatives are creating opportunities for women in their communities and driving change towards gender balance.

This year, the International Women’s Day theme was #BalanceforBetter: achieving gender balance for better, more inclusive economies, societies, and communities.

We’re excited to share two stories of #DOTYouth who are changing lives and creating opportunities for women in their communities. These are our International Women’s Day #BalanceforBetter superstars:

Dorina Mathayo is making it easier and safer for women in Tanzania to safely find the information they need to rent homes in their communities. Read Dorina’s full feature here!

Nsubuga Kigongo is helping women in his community to earn an income and develop livelihoods by supporting them to become talented crafters who create hand-made goods and sell them at local markets in Uganda. Read Nsubuga’s full feature here!
