Live video showcase with #DOTYouth from Kenya and Tanzania

On April 26th, DOT joined Global Affairs Canada at an International Girls in ICT Day showcase of the work Canadian organizations are doing with and for girls in ICT.

We were excited to bring in two #DOTYouth virtually: Ruth Kaveke from Kenya and Catherine Kalinga from Tanzania joined via a live video cast to share how they are transforming their communities, creating opportunities, and bridging the gender digital divide through social enterprises focused on young women in their communities.

Ruth and Catherine spoke about the challenges girls in technology face, and how through resources, mentorship, and instructional programming they are each supporting girls to find opportunities in technology.
