Nuria Arias- Program Director for Digital Opportunity Trust in Mississippi and Louisiana. Originally from San Salvador, El Salvador, but raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. Mrs. Arias attended Loyola University and Framhingham State University. She holds an undergraduate degree in Education, Masters in Counseling and International Education. Her professional experience has brought her to work in the areas of education and development in Latin America and the United States. Mrs. Arias has had the opportunity to work with international education entities in El Salvador and the Dominican Republic. In the United States, she has worked in the following areas: Pk-16 Education Redesign, No Child Left Behind, Title 1 and 2 and Early Childhood Education.
Most recently, Mrs. Arias' professional and personal interests have brought her to the world of technology and education. Working for Digital Opportunity Trust has provided Mrs. Arias with the opportunity to work in the integration of technology within education. Currently Mrs. Arias is responsible for the implemention and sustainability of the TeachUp! program in Mississippi and Louisiana. As an educator and parent, Mrs. Arias has discovered that through the integration of technology within education, we are better preparing future generations for the 21st Century.
