Frank Shi

Frank Shi has extensive international experience and knowledge of the Sichuan market. He has worked on engineering projects financed by World Bank, African Development Bank, UNDP and Chinese Government Aid in Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya. From 1994-1998, he served as the Chief Representative in Singapore, promoting trade of Sichuan and developing foreign direct investments to Sichuan. He has held posts in the Sichuan Provincial Government, and overseas with state owned enterprises and foreign companies.

Frank’s close relationship with Canada began in 2002 when he became the Regional Trade Officer (Chief Representative) for, Canada China Business Council (CCBC), Chengdu Office. Today, Frank continues to represent Canadian businesses as an independent service provider/contractor to Canadian Consulate in Chongqing,, CCBC, CMHC, Canada Wood, BS Forestry, Canadian municipal and provincial governments including Quebec, Montreal, Edmonton and commercial companies.

Fluent in English and Chinese, Frank Shi applies his “people-to-people” skills to DOT China bridging the bilateral cultural/business gap and contributing to broad based knowledge sharing.

Frank joins DOT as the Program Executive for Western China.
