DOT Intern Alumni

by Emily Marks last modified 2008-10-02 18:26

Since 2002, over 600 Interns worldwide have capitalized on DOT’s training program and the internship.

DOT recruits and trains talented young people, ages 21-29, to share and transfer their knowledge through practical ICT-driven projects that respond to community needs in economic, education, health services, micro-enterprise and social development.   Through the efforts of these Interns, more than 8,000 community participants have been empowered to use ICT for local development, 19,000 K-12 students benefited from a technology-enriched learning environment, and over 400 K-12 teachers have been empowered to use technology in the classroom.

The Intern Alumni program is designed to invest in these youth who have successfully completed a one year DOT internship.  The program provides former Interns with the opportunity to stay connected and maintain relationships with DOT and other Intern alumni through various means.

Program Objectives

  • Volunteer! at special events, make presentations about experiences to our partners
  •  Mentor! to new interns, offering a great opportunity and experience
  •  Build Friendships! and lasting relationships with other alumni, Interns and staff
