EXECUTIVE TEAM:
Janet Longmore - President & CEO
Over her twenty-five year career, Janet has been a leader in creating new approaches and sustainable solutions that have successfully helped less fortunate people and societies improve their lives for the better. She has distinguished herself as a leader in building innovative, multi-sector partnerships to strengthen the reach and impact of programme operations. A talented communicator, Janet is passionately committed to effective efforts to bridge the global digital divide and empower people through the application of technology. Janet has been a featured speaker at numerous ICT for development conferences and events and is a member of the Strategy Council of the United Nations Global Alliance for ICT and Development (GAID).
Janet is the Founder of DOT.
Grant Thomas - Vice President, Strategic Development
Grant is an energetic and experienced management professional with extensive international development experience in most regions of the world. He is a specialist in partnership and joint venture development and has been responsible for millions of dollars of private and public sector investment in developing and transitional economies. He is a former executive in several IT companies, a partner in PriceWaterhouse and he co-led the Acacia Initiative in Africa with IDRC. He sits on the board of directors of Precarn Incorporated, Willis College and TeKnoWave Inc.
Jane Jamieson - Vice President, Global Operations
Jane is a dynamic executive, with extensive experience in international development, project management, business development in emerging markets and public-private partnerships in over 20 countries. Based in Istanbul since 2005, Jane is a former Canadian diplomat and holds an M.A. in International Affairs from the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs in Ottawa, Canada.
Anne G. Williams - Senior Consultant, Global Learning
Anne is a passionate advocate of entrepreneurship and participatory learning as an instrument of change, especially for women. She joined DOT after 27 years as an SMSE consultant, specializing in adult and youth financial education and strategic planning for small businesses. She has worked in the USA, Afghanistan, Jordan, and Kenya. Her areas of expertise include curriculum development and training, social entrepreneurship, gender equality, and participatory monitoring and evaluation. She is a volunteer board member of a rural non-profit dedicated to bringing music, dance and the visual arts into schools.
OPERATIONS:
Emily Marks - Communications Manager
Emily has worked with various non-profit organizations throughout the world, including the Institute of Cultural Affairs. From 2001-2002, she participated in a NetCorps (Canada) internship in India. Emily holds a Master of Arts in Criminology from Bond University in Australia and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, minoring in Legal Studies, from the University of Waterloo.
Heather Marshall - Executive Assistant
Heather brings to DOT her experience and skills in office administration, most recently from her position at Precarn Incorporated as administrative support to the research program managers.
Erlinda Saculles - Finance Officer
A CPA from the Philippines with over 20 years of Bookkeeping and Accounting experience, with a Masters Degree in Business Management from the University of the Philippines, Erlinda has been the Finance Officer with DOT since 2006. She brings numerous experience in different areas of Accounting from both the private and non-profit sectors.
PROGRAMS:
Ayse Kok - DOT Global Project Manager
Based in Istanbul, Ayse has held positions within various international organizations such as Ernst & Young and UNSSC- a UN agency. Ayse established her own non-profit institution that provides advisory services for educational institutions in Turkey and gave various presentations at international conferences. Ayse has recently completed the coursework for her PhD in Technology and Learning Sciences at Oxford University, and holds a M.Sc in Educational Technologies from the University of Oxford and a B.Sc in Management Information Systems from Bogazici University in Istanbul, Turkey.
Terrie Lynn Thompson - Researcher-in-Residence
Terrie Lynn was DOT’s first Learning Director and led the creation of learning programs for Interns and community members (Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt) as well as development of the online learning elements for TeachUp! in the USA and ReachUp! in Kenya and Ethiopia. Terrie Lynn’s background includes management, development of organizational (e)learning strategies, instruction, and curriculum design in a range of settings. Completing her PhD at the University of Alberta, Faculty of Education, Terrie Lynn is researching how self-employed workers use web-based technologies for work-related learning in online communities and Web2.0 enabled spaces.
TECHNOLOGY:
Hugh Ranalli - Director of Technology
Hugh comes to DOT with a wealth of experience in connecting people, and the work they do, through technology. He brings to the team, over 10 years experience designing and deploying sophisticated collaboration, learning, and knowledge management solutions. He is a strong believer in, and champion of, the open source model and community and looks forward to leveraging his skills to empower individuals through DOT's programs.
Stefan Fylak - Content and Support Administration
Stefan comes to DOT with a background in multimedia and courseware development, software quality assurance, writing, training and providing support.
COUNTRY TEAM LEADS:
Nuria Arias - Director of DOT Mississippi/Louisiana
Nuria holds an undergraduate degree in Education, Masters in Counseling and International Education. Her professional experience has brought her to work in the areas of education and development in Latin America and the United States. Nuria has had the opportunity to work with international education entities in El Salvador and the Dominican Republic.
Gillian Brewin - Country Director for DOT Ethiopia
Gillian is a dedicated and resourceful development programmer who has worked, traveled and lived in Africa and Asia over the last 30 years. In the last five years, she has worked with USAID/Ethioipa’s humanitarian and management services offices. Prior to joining USAID, Gillian worked for Canada’s Program Support Unit (now ECCO) serving CIDA’s Horn of Africa program.

Adel Ghié - Program Director for DOT Lebanon
Justine Ickes - Program and Training Director for DOT USA
A gifted communicator and innovative educator, Justine has over 20 years of experience in international program design and management for education and youth projects throughout Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, the Pacific and the United States. Justine holds a Master of Arts in Anthropology from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Georgetown University.
Catherine Luo - Program
Manager for the DOT China
Education Initiative
Catherine brings to DOT China her extensive work experience with multinational companies. A native of Chengdu, Catherine combines a solid background in management, financial oversight and PR skills with more than 10 years experience in recruitment, management and training of international sales personnel in business etiquette, cross cultural issues, sales and customer service.
Marc Metni - Country Director for DOT Lebanon
Marc headed the YMCA team that implemented DOT’s NetCorps Lebanon pilot
project in five villages of Lebanon in 2003. As a
management consultant, his involvement with technology, ICT4D in particular,
extends to different fields like marketing, education, and visualization. His keen interest in
development and his collaboration skills, to leverage the partners’ goals and
resources to cause a change at grassroots level, have played a determining role
in the programs he handles.
Li Min- IBM CSC China Program Manager
With almost 20 years of project management experience, Li recently worked as Project Manager for the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the China Chamber of International Commerce Project. Li has also provided business management for import and export efforts, and projects engineering management and supervision on personnel training and site service for clients in China and abroad.
Tom Musili - Country Director for DOT Kenya
Tom is a chartered Accountant with extensive training and experience in Management and Public Administration. Tom is the founder and Executive Director of the award winning 'Computers for Schools Kenya' program and has 18 years of experience in Senior Management positions. He is a member of various voluntary and professional associations and clubs such as AFA , ACCA, MKIM, Rotary and Members Clubs.
Stella Njoroge - Program Manager for DOT Kenya
Stella holds an MA in International Management (University of Westminster - UK) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management (University of Nairobi). She has many years of work experience both in Kenya and in the UK where she lived for two years while doing her studies. While not working, Stella enjoys spending time with her family.
Frank Shi - Advisor for DOT China
Frank Shi has extensive international experience and knowledge of the Sichuan market. He has worked on engineering projects financed by World Bank, African Development Bank, UNDP and Chinese Government Aid in Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya. From 1994-1998, he served as the Chief Representative in Singapore, promoting trade of Sichuan and developing foreign direct investments to Sichuan. He has held posts in the Sichuan Provincial Government, and overseas with state owned enterprises and foreign companies.
Sherry Youssef - Executive DOT Egypt
A dynamic international project designer and manager with
over 17 years work experience in international development. Focus areas
include ICT strategic planning, pubic private partnerships, and institutional
capacity building. Extensive experience working with multilateral
agencies and international donors as well as relevant government
entities. Have worked and studied in the US,
Europe and around the Middle East.
Currently living in Egypt.
Speaks English, Arabic and functional French.
Violette Uwamutara - Program Manager for DOT Rwanda
Violette has worked in community development in Ecuador and has spent 7 years as a policy analyst and First Secretary in the embassy of the Republic of Rwanda in Washington, DC, before returning to her homeland to head the Asia and Oceania desk for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kigali. Since leaving the government, Violette has been consulting in the area of social development, specializing in project design, research and monitoring and evaluation. She has earned an undergraduate degree from Trent University in economics and comparative development and a masters in international development from Ottawa's Carleton University.
